Building an inventory

It really feels good to have a strong purpose for creating more pieces! The Ocean Park event isn't until the latter half of July, but it will be here before I know it.

Today I grabbed a few hours to make another 8" round Gyotaku encaustic. I want to do another, but need to wait 24 hours for some glue to dry on the substrate. I hate having to wait for something like that, but it would be worse to see a piece come apart because I was hasty!

This was a little rockfish I caught last spring on my trip to Ketchikan. It "lives" in my freezer and comes out to play from time to time.

Two very small and one medium small octopus are thawed, washed, and wrapped in old terry cloth towels awaiting their transformation into art. Weather is perfect for setting up outside.

This is my first Weebly website blog post, created on my iPhone. Maybe I'll be more likely to keep up a blog if I can do it in the middle of the action. This photo was taken in my backyard. It's my newest piece, a 24" diameter octopus gyotaku encaustic. The cool tiled fish was a housewarming present a few years ago from my best bud.

The octopus doesn't have a title yet. Any ideas?
